After the three-week international break, Premier League action returns with some intriguing fixtures.

Arsenal host Leeds, Manchester United welcome Spurs to Old Trafford, the Black Cats take on the Seagulls, while Liverpool host Man City in a massive Sunday-night fixture.

Here, we present our previews and predictions for all matches of Gameweek 6 of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Arsenal vs Leeds United

Arsenal lost their first game of the season before the break, with Brighton defeating them 3–0 at the Amex. As for Leeds, they went into the break with a goalless draw against Crystal Palace.

The Gunners have only lost one game across all competitions so far, having conceded just four goals in five games, three of which came against Brighton. As for the Whites, they have been unbeaten so far with two wins and three draws in five league fixtures.

William Saliba and Christos Tzolis will be unavailable for this game, while Cristhian Mosquera, Piero Hincapié, Ben White, Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Ezri Konsa, and Max Dowman are doubtful. As for Leeds, Joe Rodon and Mateo Joseph will be out, with Harry Wilson doubtful.

Although Arsenal had a slight bump, they are still in second place with four wins and a loss from five games, while Leeds are still unbeaten in the league, although they have two wins and three draws. It’s going to be a difficult game, as there is a possibility of key players missing for the hosts, but we believe they still have a lot of quality and should be able to win this one narrowly.

Score Prediction: Arsenal 2–1 Leeds

Aston Villa vs Brentford

Aston Villa went into the international break with a semblance of form recovery with three back-to-back wins. They also won a friendly against Spanish club Sevilla during the break. As for Brentford, they are still unbeaten in the league and beat Chelsea convincingly in their last Premier League fixture.

Aston Villa have a problem with injuries, though. Ian Maatsen and Amadou Onana will be unavailable for this game, while Modou Kéba Cissé, Marco Bizot, Pau Torres, and Leon Goretzka are doubtful. Brentford, meanwhile, will miss Mathias Jensen for this game, with Mikkel Damsgaard, Dango Ouattara, Nathan Collins, Joshua Dasilva, Sepp van den Berg, and Antoni Milambo all doubtful.

This could be a very tough game for the Villans, as Brentford can’t be taken lightly. They are a well-coached team who play to their strengths and are dangerous on set pieces as well, although they could miss some key players. Brentford have a superior head-to-head record over Villa recently, though, and won both their league matches against them last season. Hence, we feel they could get a result at Villa Park this time around as well.

Score Prediction: Aston Villa 0–1 Brentford

Ipswich Town vs Fulham

Ipswich Town come into this game on the back of two consecutive defeats, while Fulham have shown improvement, earning credible draws against Liverpool and Manchester United after a poor start to the season.

Ipswich have lost four of their last five games, only winning away at Selhurst Park, conceding 14 goals along the way. Fulham, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last three games but scored only one goal in their last two league fixtures. They are currently in 19th in the league table.

For this game, Ipswich will be without Abdul Fatawu, who is suspended, while Jack Taylor is doubtful too. Fulham, on the other hand, have Kenny Tete and Tom Cairney doubtful for this game.

The Cottagers boast a superior head-to-head record against the Tractor Boys. Having gained some positive momentum, this could be the game where they get their first win of the season. Ipswich have shown defensive frailties and could concede goals, which is why we believe Fulham should win this game, though they will need to be wary of the Ipswich attack.

Score Prediction: Ipswich 1–2 Fulham

Chelsea vs Bournemouth

Chelsea will want to return to winning ways after their humiliating defeat against Brentford. Bournemouth, on the other hand, will also want to earn points away from home after their narrow defeat to Liverpool before the break.

The Blues started the season well with two consecutive wins, but they have lost two and drawn one game since then, with their recent outing ending in a 3–0 defeat against the Bees. As for the Cherries, they have lost games from winning positions this season. Although they won their first-ever European game against Real Sociedad, they suffered a narrow loss to Liverpool at home.

For this game, Chelsea will be without Jamie Gittens, with Marco Palestra, Moisés Caicedo, Reece James, Emmanuel Emegha, and João Pedro all doubtful due to knocks. Bournemouth, meanwhile, will miss Eli Junior Kroupi, Justin Kluivert, Alex Scott, and Julian Araujo for this game, with Amine Adli, David Brooks and Veljko Milosavljevic all doubtful.

Both Chelsea and Bournemouth could be without some key players for this game. Xabi Alonso and Co are playing at home, and although they haven’t had problems with scoring goals, their defence has been shambolic; they’ve conceded the most goals in the league so far. We believe this could be an open, end-to-end affair that ends in an entertaining draw.

Score Prediction: Chelsea 2–2 Bournemouth

Sunderland vs Brighton & Hove Albion

The Black Cats come into this fixture on the back of an entertaining affair against Man City, although it resulted in a 5–3 defeat for them. As for the Seagulls, they have been soaring high and are currently third in the league table, having defeated the defending champions at home last time out.

Sunderland have suffered a dismal start to the season and have a solitary win, a draw, and three losses. In contrast, Brighton have been phenomenal, scoring at will and defeating tough opponents. Their back-to-back wins against Man United in the EFL Cup and Arsenal at home have showed that they can’t be taken for granted.

Sunderland will be without Habib Diarra and Romain Mundle for this game, with Brian Brobbey and Daniel Ballard doubtful. Brighton continue to have injury problems, with Yankuba Minteh and Evan Ferguson unavailable, while Yasin Ayari, Lewis Dunk, Mats Wieffer, Pascal Struijk, Jack Hinshelwood, Femi Azeez, Kaoru Mitoma, Stefanos Tzimas, and Zadok Yohanna are all doubtful for this game.

This is going to be a match-up between a solid defensive unit and an attacking force. Looking at the form of these two teams, we believe Brighton have the edge to win this game.

Score Prediction: Sunderland 1–3 Brighton

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United have had a topsy-turvy season so far and went into the break with a loss in the EFL Cup third round against Brighton and a draw against Fulham in the league. As for Spurs, they lost both of their last two games: a defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup third round and a close 2–3 loss to Aston Villa at home in the league.

Spurs’ issues of the last two seasons haven’t been solved by a busy summer transfer window as they continue to struggle. The Lilywhites are sitting at the bottom of the table with two draws and three defeats in five league games. Man United, meanwhile, have fared slightly better and have one win, two draws, and two defeats.

Injury-wise, the hosts will miss Manuel Ugarte, while Karl Darlow, Tom Heaton, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, Benjamin Sesko, and Marcus Rashford are all doubtful for this game. As for the visitors, they will be without Xavi Simons, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Wilson Odobert, Pedro Porro, Micky van de Ven, and Jan Paul van Hecke, with Dejan Kulusevski doubtful.

This is a great opportunity for both teams to build some confidence and momentum. Playing at home, Man United have a slight advantage and could exploit Spurs’ poor defending and lack of finishing. However, Spurs do have a chance of exploiting United’s defensive vulnerabilities as well. We still feel the Red Devils should win this game, with Spurs having to wait slightly longer for their first league win of the season.

Score Prediction: Man United 2–1 Spurs

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest

Crystal Palace have started the new season poorly and are currently sitting 15th in the table with one win, one draw, and three defeats. Their last Premier League game was a goalless draw against Leeds United. Palace also played a friendly game against second-tier Bristol City during the international break, which they also ended up losing.

As for their opponents, Nottingham Forest suffered a home defeat to Coventry in their last league game. Forest have been unlike themselves this season and have been losing at home, where they are usually solid and don’t give away points.

For this game, Palace will be without Chadi Riad (injury) and Axel Disasi (suspension), while Dean Henderson, Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Anan Khalaili are doubtful. Forest, meanwhile, may only miss Nicoló Savona, who is doubtful to start.

There isn’t much to choose from between the two teams, as they are both struggling for form. Although Palace performed well in their Europa League opener, the league is proving to be a massive challenge for new head coach Pierre Sage. Forest are also struggling to find form, even though they are not playing in Europe this term. With both teams going for defensive solidity, we believe this could end in a scrappy draw.

Score Prediction: Palace 1–1 Forest

Hull City vs Everton

Hull City have exceeded expectations so far in the league, getting results against the big teams and proving difficult to score against. Although their last league game was a defeat at St James’ Park, the Tigers have done well considering the difficult opponents they have faced early in the season.

Their opponents for this game, Everton, have started in decent fashion too. They are still unbeaten with two wins and three draws from their first five league games and sit in seventh place behind City rivals Liverpool. Their last game was a narrow win over Ipswich Town at home.

Hull do have a fair few players out with injuries: Jack Butland, Darko Gyabi, Eliot Matazo, Ilyas Ansah, and Tim Iroegbunam will be unavailable, while Elliot Stroud, Charlie Hughes, Matt Targett, and Hidemasa Morita are doubtful for this game. As for Everton, Merlin Röhl, Vitaliy Mykolenko, and Christian Nørgaard are doubtful for this game.

Considering Hull’s injury problems, Everton have a slight advantage going into this game. We believe this will be a tight affair that could end in a narrow win for the Toffees.

Score Prediction: Hull 0–1 Everton

Liverpool vs Manchester City

This is going to be the most crucial game of the weekend, with Liverpool looking to close the gap to the table-toppers Man City, who in turn will be looking to keep their winning run going.

Liverpool went into the international break with a hard-earned win against Bournemouth, while Man City played an eight-goal thriller against Sunderland at the Etihad. City currently sit top of the table with five wins out of five, while Liverpool are also unbeaten but sit in sixth place with two wins and three draws.

Injury-wise, Liverpool will be without Cody Gakpo, Conor Bradley, Federico Chiesa, Hugo Ekitiké, and Giovanni Leoni while Nico O’Reilly and Antoine Semenyo are doubtful for City, with Phil Foden suspended for this game.

Given all that has happened over the international break, the atmosphere is surely going to be hostile for Man City. It’s going to be a tough game for the Cityzens at Anfield, and with their defence slightly more leaky than Liverpool’s, the hosts have a slight advantage going into this game. Although we expect a tightly contested affair, we believe Liverpool can grab all three points here.

Score Prediction: Liverpool 2–1 Man City

Coventry City vs Newcastle United

Coventry City’s start to the season hasn’t been what they would have wanted. With one win and four defeats, they are sitting in the relegation zone. That said, their first win of the season arrived unexpectedly against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, and that would have given them a lot of confidence.

As for the Magpies, they have started well under new head coach Matthias Jaissle, having won two, drawn two, and lost only one game. Their last league game was a win over Hull City at home.

Coventry come into this game without Haji Wright, Kaine Kesler-Hayden, Luke Woolfenden, Josh Eccles, and Aurèle Amenda. Newcastle, meanwhile, continue to suffer from injury issues, with key players unavailable: Jacob Ramsey, Anthony Elanga, William Osula, and Joelinton are all on the sidelines, with Tino Livramento, Dan Burn, and Amar Dedic also doubtful.

Despite being the away team, Newcastle could definitely pose a challenge to Coventry with their physicality and pacy forwards. However, considering their injury problems, they could find the going difficult at the CBS Arena. We expect this game to end in a draw.

Score Prediction: Coventry 1–1 Newcastle
