Coco Gauff joins World Team Tennis’ Florida Flamingos Racquet Club as player-owner
World Team Tennis (WTT), a mixed-gender professional tennis league, has announced that American tennis player Coco Gauff has joined Florida Flamingos Racquet Club as a player-owner.
Gauff will take part in the franchise’s home matches at Amerant Bank Arena in December later this year. By taking on the dual role, the 22-year-old has joined the likes of Tommy Paul, Learner Tien, Brandon Nakashima, Iva Jovic, and Eva Lys, who have already signed as players for the Florida Flamingos.
On joining Florida Flamingos Racquet Club, Gauff commented:
“Growing the sport through team competition and making it more accessible are two things I love, and WTT does both.
“I’m looking forward to playing at home in front of my family and friends in South Florida. It’s not often, as a tennis player, that we get to compete as part of a team, so I’m excited for the new experience, not only for myself but, even more importantly, for the fans.”
